There are few things as satisfying as sharing a great meal with others. It's fundamental to how we forge connections. While a delicious dining experience is one element of Well Fed, we aim to feed much more. We want to nourish face-to-face interaction and community.
In this busy world of modern distractions, we believe there’s value in slowing down and sharing a small moment in time with one another. We want to laugh, learn, and be present with folks from all backgrounds and cultures. Now more than ever, we should make space to nurture new connections and friendships offline and in person.
If these are the types of moments you value, we invite you to Well Fed Social.
Thanks to a chance encounter and timely life circumstances, Well Fed was started in February 2024 by Ada Yeung and Drew Sing with the vision of bringing people of all cultures and interests together. Ada moved to Mexico City four years ago, and knows first hand what it's like to build a community from scratch. With the initial success of social meals in Mexico City, Drew, a native of the Pacific Northwest, is exploring with how Well Fed does in Vancouver BC, a city notorious for being tough to build meaningful connections and find belonging.
We'd love to hear your thoughts about where Well Fed can go as we're in the early stages. Have questions or interested in contributing? We'd love to hear them at wellfed.club@gmail.com.
Ada Yeung, the seasoned marketer and startup enthusiast, decided to trade her conventional path for the jet-set lifestyle back in 2016. As the offspring of culinary maestros and a dedicated foodie herself, every serendipitous encounter in her life has had a dash of deliciousness. Whether it's Miami, New Delhi, Chiang Mai, or her current playground in Mexico, Ada is well-versed in the art of hustling to a new city and crafting a community from scratch.
You can say bringing people together over a meal is her forte. After all, what better catalyst to unite people than the universal language of food?
A simple fellow who prefers dingy food carts over sleek hip bars, Drew Sing's time living in Sydney and Lisbon exposed him to the lost art of relaxed open-ended meals. While volunteering on farms in New Zealand, he experienced group dinners that would morph into meandering evenings; where time and agendas were an afterthought. When he’s not trying to create similar experiences with Well Fed, Drew can be seen attempting poses at yoga classes, cruising on his bike, working on construction projects, and of course, eating street tacos.
